What does it look like to commit to a certain area or to a certain people?
What does it look like to invest your love and energy and time into the same place… for life? We live in an age where people are always coming and going. While actually we come from an age, long ago, when it was the exact opposite. When people stayed and lived in a village, a small town, or even a city for their entire lives! Perhaps one of the biggest things humanity misses these days is community… and maybe, just maybe, that has something to do with wheels and wings. Perhaps humanity isn't meant to do so much moving… but meant to do more neighboring.
My wife and I decided years ago that we were committing to a place. That we would “settle” somewhere and stay. That we would journey together into the radical idea of, well, staying put. But not just for the sake of not having to change our address, but because we believe that humanity finds life best when we are neighboring well.
This blog is my attempt to share pieces of this journey with you. My philosophy and theology behind it. And the story of a family, a community, and the neighborhood around us all.
