Seriously, we felt the baby hiccuping for the first time ever last night. Pretty amazing stuff!
It's getting to be "go time" now as May approaches. The second bedroom still has a lot of conversion to go before it becomes a nursery. But we've kicked it up a notch in just the past week and a half. The crib is getting painted, Ems is deciding what she's painting on our canvases, the closet has been almost cleaned out... But it seems we've gone from doing a little and talking about a lot to her working on something every day. I think this must be what they mean when you hear the term "nesting." I think there's some nesting going down. :)
Somehow instead of waiting on Baby-Showers (a phenomenon of which I will touch on at a later time) we keep finding "deals" on things and buying them ourselves! It's a little crazy! So I think we're going to have to lay down some rules... such as, no more trips to Bargain Hunt until after the baby is born.Even though I will say they had some good bargains on Britax strollers... :) those puppies roll like BMW's for babies. Except they don't have the one thing that I wanted in a stroller... a cupholder! Seriously though... I guess we'll just have to get the additional attachment. That's kind of like life though isn't it? Can't have your cake and eat it to. Perfection is always just beyond our reach.
I realized the other day as we were lost in the jungles of Babies "R" Us how they don't have tons of things for babies to actually use. Its really all things that parents have to use for their babies... Strollers to push babies around in, packs to carry around their diapers in, gliders to rock them in, special clothes to catch their vomit on! It should be Parents R Us...
Even so, as much preparing as can be done for parenthood, somehow I don't think any amount of purchases or prego books will prepare us for this baby!
I'm curious though, if the mom is supposed to be "nesting" right now... whats the dad supposed to do?
Care to share...
